Horses have worked over the main track at Santa Anita Park for the first time since racing was suspended last week.

However racing is not scheduled to resume until March 22 even though more than 100 horses worked on the track without incident.

Steve Lym, Santa Anita's vice president of racing and racing secretary, said: "We're back to the business of training racehorses."

Lym said track consultant Dennis Moore had reported that the main track is now in the identical condition it was last autumn before the winter rain.

Horses worked on both the main track and the training track.

Jim Cassidy, president of California Thoroughbred Trainers, said he worked four on the main track.

"All of them went very nice - nothing unusual," Cassidy said. "We haven't had any rain in three or four days, and I'm sure that helps."

The G1 Santa Anita Handicap has been rescheduled for April 6, the same day as the Santa Anita Derby.
