Short priced favourites got rolled in both features.

In the G3 Celebration Cup over 1400m Buddies proved a best buddy for Tony Cruz and Matthew Chadwick by leading in the race and not getting overtaken.  Starting on 24.0 it was a while since Buddies had won but he's obviously enjoyed his summer break and returned with enthusiasm combined with a fine job of rating by Matthew Chadwick.  Tourbillon Diamond ran a very respectable second and short-priced favourite Sky Darci was only third with Moreira trying to get a rails run but that didn't come until too late in the story. Duke Wai was fourth.

In the Class 2 it was Trillion Win under Alex Badel who provided the upset by defeating the favourite Naboo Attack.  Badel had the best of the runs with Naboo Attack having to weave his way through the field and having the odd bump or two on the way.  California Rad took third and both Killer Bee and Winner Method were disappointing.  Killer Bee was found to have an abnormal respiratory noise after Moreira reported this post race.
