A great day for James Doyle

The Saturday of Arc weekend will remain very special for James Doyle.

He managed to ride a treble despite the rain and other inconveniences likes some seriously good opposition.  He started off the afternoon in the manner in which he intended to continue by booting home the excellent Manoba and keeping her unbeaten tag intact.  That was in the Prix Chaudenay where they denied stablemate Kemari with Frankie Dettori on board with the Fabre runner Tides Of War third.

Dettori got on the board however in the next race, the Wildenstein, when he persuaded Real World to stick his neck out and deny The Revenant a third win in the race.  This was another good result for Godolphin this time for Saeed bin Suroor.  German raider Novemba was third.

The Prix Cadran was a good contest between Trueshan and Stradivarius until the last 100m when Stradivarius could find no more and Trueshan revelled in the conditions to give James Doyle his second win and a well-deserved G1 to Alan King.  This was not Stradivarius's preferred going and the 4000m not his favourite trip either.  Third went to Bubble Smart with Skazino back in fourth.

The Prix Royallieu was the most open of the races on the card and in the end went to Loving Dreams giving Dettori a second winner for the afternoon, this time for the Gosdens.  There was a short neck back to Believe In Love for Varian-Atzeni who at one stage looked as if they had the race in the bag.  Favourite Valia was third, followed home by Joie de Soir and Passion.

The Prix Dollar was Doyle's third winner this time with Dubai Honour for William Haggas.  Magny Cours was second and we were delighted when our "roughie" Dawn Intello ran a very commendable third place.

Looks like being a day for snorkel and flippers on Sunday.
