There was still the G1 Sun Chariot at Newmarket and a brace of G3s at Ascot.
Newmarket's going was described as good and Ascot had the soft going. We were delighted to see Jane Chapple-Hyam saddle her first G1 with Saffron Beach under William Buick who had picked up the ride when Adam Kirby was required for Ascot duties. Mother Earth was 3 lengths back in second and outsider Dreamloper 25/1 was third.
At Ascot the Cumberland Lodge was a stroll in the park for Hukum who finished 6 ½ lengths ahead of Eagles By Day 50/1 and Ilaraab 8/1.
The Bengough saw Vadream finish 1 length in front of King's Lyn with Ventura Dream third.
