Probably because of the delay in Hong Kong this race and the Mile were run at the same time.

One would have thought that someone could have suggested to the HKJC that they wait a further couple of minutes to allow the Hanshin race to go ahead, as it was of course right on its correct starting time.  Both were G1.

So at Hanshin we saw a new start emerge in Circle of Life, a daughter of Epiphaneia.  Under regular jockey MIrco Demuro she showed that she had strength in the finish and could probably get a longer trip without too many problems.  She has now become the 2yo filly of the year for 2021, having won three of her four starts to date.

There was a very tight 4-way finish with the roughie Lovely Your Eyes 51.2 getting second by ½ length and Water Navillera a further ½ length back in third and just a neck in front of favourite Namur, who finished well considering she blew the start.
