In the 73rd running of this race Take picked up his first win in the race after 22 tries, and got his 78th G1 in the process.

This was the first graded race and win for Do Duece, a son of Heart's Cry and he won in a thrilling finish with favourite Serafos ½ length away and Danon Scorpion ½ length behind him.

There was a gap of 1 ½ lengths back to fourth placed Al Naseem who just grabbed that spot from Geoglyph who was making a late charge but a bit too late.

The Arima Kinen will be run next Sunday at Nakayama.

There was a farewell ceremony for Gran Allegria after the last at Nakayama on Saturday.  She's been a wonderful horse and we wish her a very happy future as a Mum.  Her date is Epiphaneia so they could have a wonderful baby!
