Exciting finish at Leopardstown

It looked like the Savills was going to A Plus Tard again until the last minute.

That was when Galvin came rushing through and the two fought it out with Galvin coming out on top by a shot head.

Kemboy was the leader for most of the race and just when Racheal Blaackmore got A Plus Tard past him along came Galvin who put in an extra effort and prevailed.

The Hurdle went to Klassical Dream who got a flying start – with the legitimacy of the start questioned by the trainer of the second horse, Flooring Porter.  The stewards reviewed the start and declared it to be legit and the placings stood.  The third home was 21 lengths away!

Wednesday's features are the Nevilles Hotels Novice Chase and the Mathieson Hurdle, both Grade 1.

The Chase sees the highly-rated Run Wild Fred with Davy Russell riding for Gordon Elliot – they are on 5/2.  Vanillier 11/4 and Ontheropes 9/2 and both improving and could challenge if there are any chinks in Run Wild Fred's armour.

The Mathieson's sees Sharjah going for his fourth consecutive win in the race and since he's the best horse he's oddson at 8/11.  There are some interesting challengers – Echoes in Rain and Zanahiyer are both on 4/1 and then there's our old friend Petit Mouchoir on 14/1 which could make for a tempting quinella with the favourite.
