That was done by Killer Ability, a son of Deep Impact, who got the record for the 2000m race and gave jockey Takeshi Yokoyama his 5th G1 for the year.  He was on 2.1

Second place went to another Deep Impact – Justin Palace on 8.8 was 1 ½ lengths away in second and Laquift, by Maurice this time, third on 29.8.

Favourite Grand Line was doing well but faded at the end and finished ninth.
