No Golden day for Golden Sixty

He still remains a very good horse but circumstances were against him on Sunday.

He was trying to equal Sunday Silence's record of 17 consecutive wins but it was not to be as Waikuku got a dream ride from Zac Purton to grab the race.  Russian Emperor took third and Healthy Happy was neither after the race with blood in the trachea.

It would be interesting to know how many times and odds-on favourite has been rolled in a G1 in Hong Kong.

The other G1 the Centenary Sprint Cup saw Stronger be stronger than the other runners and finish ahead of Sky Field with Hot King Prawn third.  Courier Wonder was also found to have blood in the trachea.
