Pegasus Day 2022 at Gulfstream

It may just be our imagination but there does not seem to be much hype around this year's edition.

It may be because Knicks Go, recently named Horse of the Year by Longines, is going to try and win it for the second year running.  The handsome grey who represents the Korean Racing Association with much glory is 6/5 in the Morning Line, with Todd Pletcher's Life Is Good seen as the main challenger on 7/5.  Dallas Stewart is saddling two runners and we prefer Chess Chief on 10/1.

The other two Pegasus races and the F&M Turf over 1700m and the Pegasus World Cup Turf over 1800m.

The former has Chad Brown's Regal Glory on 2/1 with J-L Ortiz riding.  Pletcher's Sweet Melania is on 5/1 and then we quite like Nicest on 6/1 and it's not just the name!

Pletcher saddles the top two in the 1800m race – Colonel Liam on 3/1 and Never Surprised on 7/2.  We are leaning more towards the Brown runner Secret Life, a former French resident, on 6/1 with J-L Ortiz on board.

Outside of the Pegasus races there's a Gr 2, the "Inside Info" over 1400m.  Unfortunately we have no inside info to impart so just going by the Morning Line Just On Time is on top for Cox-Rosario on 3/1, Jakarta 7/2 and A G Indy 6/1.  10 to line up.

Most of the action in the US seems to revolve around the trial rooms of New York and we shall report on this later.
