The G3 Centenary Vase comes at Race 7 and is over 1800m with 10 runners to line up. Excellent Proposal is up in trip but trainer John Size thinks this will suit. Moreira has been booked for the ride and the trackwork watchers like his work leading up to this. 3.0 is the current price. Tourbillon Diamond will be happier here and has also been working well and is on 4.3. Zebrowski is a nice horse and 5.9 or better could be value here, and Douglas Whyte's Savvy Nine is not the roughest on 15.0.
The Classic Mile is for the 4yos and is very open. Danny Shum has a good pair here in Packing Victory on 6.5 and the undefeated Romantic Warrior on 10.0.
Tony Cruz saddles California Spangles, a son of Star Spangled Banner. The horse is very speedy but this is up in trip and they are on 5.5. Not entirely a roughie but we may have a little e/w on Fa Fa on 9.3. It's a very interesting race.
The Chinese New Year meeting will be on 3 February and with the same restrictions in place which is a shame as it is one of the most popular meetings with lots of activities and festivities but the Tiger will have to enter with a whimper not a roar.
