HH The Amir's Sword Festival 2022.

It's all happening in Doha this weekend with the popular 3 day festival running Thursday-Saturday.

It's not surprising to see many of the races dedicated to purebred Arabians, as this is the home of some of the finest of the breed.

Friday's card has two interesting races for Thoroughbreds – the 3yo Open Cup over 1200m and the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup over 1600m, both on turf.  We do not know a lot about these runners but delving through the form guide which the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Cup provide we've come up with the following:  in the 1200m race we have to go for Bunglejungleparty who is of course by Bungle in the Jungle who became a father of 4 in one night this week.  He's trained by Julian Smart and Jim Crowley has the ride.  Hapap is by Dark Angel and this is down in trip – Tom Marquand rides one of Hollie Doyle's former rides.

Mount Snowden and Pocket Rocket also go in to the mix.

The last race on the card is the 1600m Cup G2 run on the turf.  Jabalaly is a c&d winner and trainer Al Maki has Eduardo Pedroza riding.  French raider Pao Alto won recently at Cagnes and trainer Christophe Ferland has Maxim Guyon riding.  Stylish Performer looks interesting as he won his last outing and although up in trip here looks capable of handling this.  Lukas Delozier rides for H. AL Jehani.

We may have a better idea of Saturday's runners after this so we shall leave that card until later,
