Big Day at Sha Tin

But no big crowd again – the Covid numbers are back with a vengeance so it is hard to see the situation changing in the short term.

Which is a big shame as there is some very good racing in the card with the Class 2 Ambitious Dragon starting the day as Race 1.  There are only 7 running the 2000m which is a shame but Hong Kong doesn't really cater for stayers.  Berlin Tango is on top on 2.7 with Looking Great 4.9 and Charity Go  on 5.7 also possibililties.

The first of the G1s is Race 3, the Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup (are we going to get a Platinum Jubilee

Cup) over 1400m with 8 starters.  Recent winner Waikuku is tipped to continue his winning ways and is on 2.7, Sky Field 4.5, Wellington 7.1 and we think Californiadeepshot on 12.0 is worth a bit of e/w.

Race 8 is the Citi Hong Kong Gold Cup over 2000m with 11 starters.  Golden Sixty blotted his copy book last time out but there were excuses and he's still the best horse in Hong Kong, so he's back to odds-on which we don't like. The market seems to favour Russian Emperor in second on 4.3 and More Than This on a similar quote. Not sure why Zebrowski is out to 13.0 when he has won twice recently at G3.  This is a step up but he seems capable of taking the jump in grade.
