Faithful followers know that we are great fans of Japanese racing and yesterday in Riyadh they won 4 races with all those horses ridden by Christophe Lemaire, second and third in another and third and fourth in another.

The first three races were on turf.  Authority won the Neon Turf Cup with Lemaire saying that he was always confident as he felt he had the best horse in the race.  The second race was the Turf Sprint and that went to Songline which Lemaire said had been working well and was able to come through and win.  Stay Foolish started on 14/1 and then managed to win the Red Sea Turf by 4 lengths, with trainer Yahagi saying he'd like to take the horse to the Melbourne Cup.

The races then moved to the dirt track, with the Saudi Derby going to the American runner Pinehurst just beating the Japanese paid of Sekifu 12/1 and Consiglere 8/1 (another Lemaire mount).

However the Japanese showed they have no fear of the surface when Dancing Prince, Lemaire's fourth winner for the night, took out the Riyadh Dirt Sprint over 1200m, with Japanese runners Chain of Love and Copano Kicking running third and fourth.

While they did not finish in the frame in the big race, the Saudi Cup which went to the locals with an exciting prospect in Emblem Road who made a nonsense of his price of 80/1, they had Marche Lorraine 6th in her last start and T O Keynes 8th, both of which earned decent paycheques as the prize money went through to 10th.

Mishriff finished out of the money so Winx's status as the leading money winner is still intact.
