Soft win for O'Connor in the Latino

The Chilean runner O'Connor started favourite in this year's Latino.

It was run on his home track the Hipodromo Chile and as usual the locals seems to have the edge on the raiders from the other jurisdictions although the Peruvian horses put up a very good showing.  O'Connor under J. Gonzalez won by an easy 7 ¾ lengths easy down on the line with the following pack led by Super Corinto and the veteran local Win Here.

The rest of the field was pretty strung out.

The other notable race on the 20 race card (fans certainly get their money's worth when they go racing in South America) was the Longines' Cup over 1600m, also on the dirt.  For the record it was an open race this time and not just for mares.

The winner was Vivir Con Allegría from Le Da Vida, Diamond in the Sky and Casa Cerrrado.
