Keeneland over Easter

The Maker's Mile has been won and the Jenny Wiley is to come.

These are the G1 races at Kenneland and there is an interesting connection between the two races.

The Mile was won by Shirl's Speight, owned and bred by our mate Charles Fipke and trained by English-born (Newbury in fact where they are racing today) Canadian and Florida based trainer Roger Attfield, who is a dual Hall of Fame (US and Canada).  Masen rang second and Smooth Like Strait third.

On Saturday the Jenny Wiley sees another Fipke homebred Lady Speightspeare, also trained by Attwood, in this 6-horse field at 8/1.  The race is over 1700m and favouritism seems to be between two Brown trained runners – Shantisara and Regal Glory who are on around evens. Could be an interesting race.
