This Gr 1 race sees the wonderful Oju Chosan go for what we think is his 38th race and his 6th win in this race – he missed out last year but has won from 2016-2020 and recently came third in the prep Hanshin Spring Jump.  Here at Nakayama he's virtually established owner's rights.  Opposing him will be Ken Horowart on 3.8 and Blason d'Amour on 5.1.

There is also the G3 Arlington Cup at Hanshin for the 3yos where Danon Scorpion is on 3.2, Jun Blossom 6.6 and Dio on 7.3.

Tomorrow is the big day for the 3yo colts, the Satsuki Sho at Nakayama, which kicks off the triple crown.  It is a very open race with many possibilities and these prices may well change before the start with Do Deuce on top on 6.0.  The son of Heart's Cry will be ridden by Yutaka Take.  He has a 3 from 4 record and has won at G1 level in the Futurity Stakes.

Equinox is a son of Kitasan Black and is unbeaten.  He's on 6.3 and will be ridden by Lemaire.  Geoglyph is one we like – he's by Drefong and on 6.8 with Fukunaga riding.  Danon Beluga is also by Heart's Cry and is also unbeaten but he's had some issues and is on 6.9 with Kawada on board, and Killer Ability is on 7.9 – a Deep Impact from presumably his last crop and he won the Hopeful over C&D at G1 level and has the young Takashi Yokoyama riding.

There is also the G3 Antares Stakes over 1800m on the dirt.  After the success in Dubai of the Japanese runners on the dirt we are keeping an eye on these races.  Badenweiler is on 2.9, Gloria Mundi 2.7 and Auvergne 9.5.
