Wonder horse wins again in Nakayama Grand Jump

He's 11 years young and just won his 6th Nakayama Grand Jump!

We're talking about Oju Chosan who just won his 20th race from 38 starts and has brought his prize money up to over AUD $10 millions.  His jockey Ishigama, who was having his 1000th race, knows the horse well and had him comfortably placed around 5th and on the rail until he pulled out coming into the home straight and took on old foe Blason d'Amour and outran his rival in the straight.  And the rest, as they say, is history.

He won the Nakayama Grand Jump every year from 2016-2020, missed out on 2021 and has returned to the winner's enclosure again this year.  We suggested yesterday that he should have naming rights to the track.x

Oju Chosan jumps with great confidence and seems to be very happy in his chosen race format.  So far no hint of the "r" word although we imagine he will now go for a nice break as there are no more top jumps races until later in the year.
