There was a big upset in the Prix de la Grotte when 9/1 chance Rosacea put in a flying finish to grab the race.

The hot favourite Raclette did not even get warm and would not have melted the softest cheese.  Fabre said she would not be pushed out but she was hardly visible.  Second place went to another Deauville resident Daisy Maisy on 18/1 and nice run from Mangoustine in third.  Times Square did nothing.

The Prix Fontainbleua was also a bit of an upset with Welwal 6/1 winning from Mathletic 8/1 and Making Moovies third.

So far no explanation of the poor run of Ancient Rome but it is possible that the Fabre runners are a bit behind some of the others at this stage of the calendar.  That will not be the case when it comes to the actual Guineas.

The Prix Noailles over the 2000m has always been one of our favourite races as on out first visit to Paris as a young foal we were stabled in the Hotel de Noailles.  It was a nice quinella for Intello's offspring with Junko winning from Maximus and Garachico third.
