Zippy Chippy dies at 31

America's losingest horse with 100 starts without a win, has died at an Old Friends retirement farm.

Zippy Chippy was possibly aimed at races he couldn't win but he did collect some prize money for placings along the way.  He developed a cult following when he was racing and in retirement he became the star of his home where he also developed a strong friendship with a paddock-mate so it seems as if he had a very happy life.

On the track at Keeneland this time Chad Brown won his 5th Jenny Wiley Gr 1 this time with Regal Glory who finished a length in front of stablemate Shantisara with Lady Speightspeare a little bit further back in third.

Off the track trainer Cody Axmaster has been given two consecutive 12 months sentences and fined $2,500 for administering Clembuterol to his horses after they arrived at Monmouth Park in early May last year.  One of these horses, a 6 yo mare named Wishful died but the other 14 horses recovered.  Axmaster claims this was an accident and is appealing the sentence.  From our point of view to kill a horse accidently or not should be worthy of much harsher sentencing.
