Queen Mother Memorial Cup G3 at Sha Tin

It's one of the most stunning-looking trophies so why don't more owners want to go for it?

There are only 5 runners and apart from the gorgeous trophy there are very few 2400m races in Hong Kong so where are all the horses?

Tony Millard has come out this week in an interview with the Racing Post with his concerns about the number of slow horses now in Hong Kong.  He blames this on the pandemic which has not allowed trainers to attend the overseas sales in person and feels that agents are dumping slow horses into Hong Kong.  Not sure if we agree 100% with that but there is no doubt that the quality of horses in Hong Kong has deteriorated.

So today's feature – very short-priced favourite is Senor Toba with Joao Moreira riding the Derby 4th for Caspar Fownes.  With only 5 horses in the race it could all be down to tactics.  The Brazilian former horse of the year Butterfield will have Zac Purton on board and they are on 3.8 but it's not a race for the punters.  Watch and enjoy over a glass of something refreshing.
