72nd Yasuda Kinen

This is the last of the Sunday G1 for now as the horses line up at Fuchu Sunday.

This mile event often has overseas runners but the entry from Hong Kong was scratched and arguably not really up to this level so it is a "made in Japan" version this year.

Favourite Schnell Meister isn't entirely "made in Japan" as he is German-bred but he races in Japan and that's what counts.  He's on 4.8 with Christophe Lemaire on board.  He was 3rd in this race last year and recently was a bit disappointing when 8th in the Dubai Turf.  One hears that he is happy to be home and training well.

We think that Elusive Panther has a very good chance having won the Tokyo Shimbun over this course and trip and 5.1 is reasonable.

There is not much between Songline on 7.7, Fine Rouge on 8.2 and Serifos on 8.6.  In fact this is one of the more open Yasuda Kinen's of recent years.

If you want to support Damian Lane he is on Salios which has come in from 16.2 to 14.9 and is not the worst of them.
