There was an exciting finish in the Bahrain Trophy with not much separating the first three home.  However the judge decided that Deauville Legend 11/2 was the winner from Al Qareem 5/2 and Walk of Stars 3/1 with favourite Zechariah 3 ½ lengths back in fourth.

The July Stakes for the 2yos saw one of the pre-race favourites Little Big Bear scratched because of the ground which was Good to Firm and that left the race at the mercy of Persian Force who duly obliged for Richard Hannon and Rossa Ryan.

The Princess of Wales's Stakes saw a welcome return to the winner's enclosure for Yibir who defeated Living Legend 18/1 by 2 ½ lengths.

Friday sees the running of the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes G2 for the 2yos over 1200m and again a very small field of 6.  Maylandsea is a promising Havanna Grey filly with David Egan riding for Michael Bell and they have a quote of 15/8.  Also favoured is Lezou, by Zoustar, with Frankie Dettori riding for Ralph Becket.  She's won her two outings to date and is on 2/1.

The Falmouth Stakes G1 for f&m has Dettori reunited with the Gosdens on Inspiral who is on 1/6.  Should she win Frankie will have to do a flying dismount and a run to the airport as he is riding at Belmont New York on Saturday.  There's only 5 runners in the field so if you are desperate and want a Quinella try Primo Bacio on 16/1.

Saturday sees the running of the Superlative Stakes G2 over 1400m for 2yos and only 5 runners.  Godolphin's Victory Dance (Appleby-Buick) is going up in trip here but looked good winning on debut and comes into this on 3/2.  Lion of War is 15/8 for the Gosdens with Ciaron Fallon riding the Roaring Lion product, and we quite like Dark Thirty on 6/1 – by Starspangled Banner.

The July Cup is of major interest as Artorius, an unlucky runner at Ascot, has his chance to atone over the 1200m of the July course.  He won't have it all his own way as Christophe Soumillon is riding Perfect Power and they are on 9/4 and the Godolphin pair of Creative Force and Naval Crown lock horns again following their 1-2 in the Jubilee at Ascot.  They have at least got a field of 14 runners for this.
