Irish Oaks Day

Saturday at the Curragh looks like being around 27 degrees and a bit of cloud so in a word very nice for racing!

The Group races kick off with the Anglesey Stakes G3 for the 2yos over 1300m and 7 are scheduled to go to post.  Aidan O'Brien's Little Big Bear was scratched from the July Stakes and comes into this as 5/4 favourite.  As usual Ryan Moore rides for Aidan on this son of No Nay Never.  We think Voce de Palio 8/1 could be a good roughie as Joseph O'Brien trains this for his Mum.

The Sapphire Stakes is G2 over 1000m and we don't have a market for this so far but the ones we are considering are Geocentric, Mooneista and Brostaigh.

The Irish Oaks has 8 runners and the market is a bit ridiculous with 2 horses in single figures and the other 6 way out.  We suggest watch this market very closely – at present on top is the English raider Emily Upjohn who was second in the Epsom Oaks.  Frankie Dettori retains the ride on this daughter of Sea The Stars for the Gosdens but 4/9 does not look like value.

We prefer Magical Lagoon, Jessica Harrington's daughter of Galileo who won the Ribblesdale.  Since most of the field is in the silly price area we will go an e/w on Cairde Go Geo, by Camelot, for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane on 16/1.
