With the heatwave now in full swing horses, jockeys, groom and everyone would probably be happier by the sea at Deauville.

However we have a G2 race on the card, the Prix Robert Papin for the 2yos over 1200m.  There are only 6 runners and Fabre's Showcasing colt Belbek is a course and distance winner.  Peslier rides.

Aidan O'Brien's Blackbeard, by No Nay Never, is having his 6th start with 3 wins already in the bag. Ioritz Mendizabal had the ride and they are on 13/8.

We are mentioning Love here as it is not the lovely Irish horse and although she is retired it really seems far too soon to have another horse of the same name running around.  This oe is on 10/1 and was 1 ½ length behind Belbek last outing.

Saturday at Saint Cloud William Haggas and Tom Marquand staged a successful raid with Mr Prospero, who started favourite and held off all challengers to the extent that Tom couldn't stop him and wanted to turn him to the left but Mr Prospero had other ideas so they parted ways, fortunately neither was any the worse off!  Zagray 15/1 was second and Junko 18/5 third).
