Saratoga and Del Mar are up and running.
With a side trip to New Jersey for the United National and Haskell at Monmouth.
Starting at Monmouth the United Nations is Gr 1 for 3y+ over 2200m on turf with 10 runners.
It's quite tight at the top of the market with Adhamo Brown-Prat and Tribhuvan Brown-Franco on 5/2 and Gufo on 3/1. Tribhuvan won this last year with a front running performance so can he do it again? Chad Brown's record on the turf is so strong but French-born Christophe Clement also has a good record and saddles Gufo. Could be worth including Temple 6/1 too!
The Haskell Gr 1 is over 1800m for 3yos. Jack Christopher, a son of Munnings, has looked special and comes in here at 3/2 for Brown – J-L Ortiz with Bob Baffert's Taiba by Gun Runner on 7/5 with Mike Smith riding.
Now to the Spa where the Coaching Club of American Oaks for the 3yo fillies has only 5 starters and seems to be a match race between the 1-2 in the Kentucky Oaks, Secret Oath and Nest. Nest is a daughter of Curlin trained by Todd Pletcher and will be ridden by Irad Ortiz and Secret Oath is by Arrogate with Luis Saez riding for D Wayne Lucas.
On Sunday the San Clemente Gr 2 for the 3yo fillies is the feature with a field of 12. Phil d'Amato has a few here including Bellabel 4/1 and Island of Love 5/1. We like Lady T with Victor Espinoza riding the daughter of Into Mischief for John Shirriffs and a price of 6/1.
