Glorious Goodwood day 1 may be a farewell to Stradivarius

He's given his all throughout his career and it will be interesting to see how he goes in the Goodwood Cup under new pilot Andrea Atzeni.  He's not favourite – Kyprios gets that nod for O'Brien-Moore at 13/8 with Stradivarius being on 15/8.  And if they are busy eyeballing each other watch out for Trueshan 3/1 for Alan King and Hollie Doyle.

Earlier we have the G2 Vintage Stakes over 1400m with 9 2yos going to post.  Hallaway Bay won the Chesham Stakes on debut at Ascot that has earned him a quote of 2/1.  Mysterious Night Appleby-Buick has finished in the frame at each of his 3 starts and the son of Dark Angel is on 4/1. Dear My Friend is by Pivotal trained by the Johnstons with Franny Norton in the irons and is on 5/1.

The Lennox Stakes sees Sacred favourite on 2/1 for William Haggas and Tom Marquand with Richard Hannon putting up Pat Dobbs on Lusail who is on 4/1.  Pogo for Charlie Hills and Kieren Shoemark is on 6/1.
