Deauville Delights for the raiders

Deauville got off to a great start on Tuesday for the English and Irish raiders.

There were 3 G3 races and the G1 Prix de Rothschild went to Jane Chapple-Hyam's lovely mare Saffron Beach who was winning her 6th race from 11 starts with William Buick in the irons.  Jane said they were delayed for 6 hours waiting to go through the Euro Tunnel and that she thought she might hitch a lift in William's plane going back.  Tenebrism was second and Goldstyle 26/1 was third.

The G3 Prix de Psyche for the 3yo fillies was won by another raider in Jessica Harrington's Trevaunance with Shane Foley on board and they went off at 18/1.  The Fabre Marquise de Sevigne was second and favourite Life of Dreams third for Appleby-Buick.

The Prix Six Perfections for 2yo fillies again went to a raider in Sydneyarms Chelsea for Charlie Hills and Ryan Moore.  She's by Sioux Nation.  Terrestrial Bay and Ipanema Princess took out the minor placings.

The Prix Cabourg for 2yos over 1200m had 10 runners and Ryan Moore picked up his second win with The Antarctic, Aidan O'Brien's nice Dark Angel colt who was winning his third race in 6 starts.  Manhattan Jungle 13/1 was second and Kerindia 39/1 third.
