Big day at Deauville

One of the big-ticket races is the Jacques le Marois G1

Or to give it the full title, Prix du Haras Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques Le Marois, it is down the 1600m straight course and will be contested by 9 runners with the winner getting an entrée into the BC Mile.

While it may not be as straight forward as the market indicates. Currently Coroebus is on top for Appleby-Buick on 7/4.  Frankie Dettori is back on good terms with the Gosdens who have given him the ride on Inspiral who comes in on 2/1, and Joseph O'Brien will saddle Cox Plate '21 winner State of Rest who is on 5/1 – this is shorter but could be seen as a good warm up for a return to Melbourne.  His father Aidan will saddle Order of Australia who could be huge value at 18/1 with Ryan Moore on board,

Earlier we have the G3 Prix Circus Maximus François Boutin for the 2yos over 1400m with a field of 6.  Godolphin's Mysterious Night is by Dark Angel and in the hands of Appleby-Buick and is odds-on here as this is start #5.  Bolshkinov is by Camacho and won on debut and comes into this on 9/2.

The Prix Gontaut-Biron Hong Kong Jockey Club is G3 over 2000m and now down to 6 runners.  Wally and Monty finished 1-2 last year and both are back with Wally on 11/4 and Month 11/2.  Ahead of them is the Aga Khan's Dilaway on 5/2 with Soumillon riding for Graffard.

The Prix Minerve is over 2400m and is G3 for the 3yo fillies.  9 to run headed by Godolphin's Frankel filly Eternal Pearl on 15/8 for Appleby-Buick.  Locals like Lastochka on 11/4 and there is another raider with a chance here in Kawida on 9/2 for Ed Walker and Tom Marquand.

The weather in Deauville should be quite pleasant with a top of 25 and possible light shower or two around the end of the afternoon.
