Jockey Ellis Wong returned to Hong Kong in the latter part of last season.

He had undergone a very successful time riding in South Australia under the HKJC overseas training program.  He's now with Caspar Fownes and still able to claim the full 10lb apprentice allowance.

On Sunday he was on board Fownes's Kirpany in the Class 2 Causeway Bay Handicap and executed well-rated race to lead from go to whoa.  They started on 25.0, and the second home Whizz Kid was on 14.0 in the 5 horse field.  Dream Winner was more of a nightmare non-winner and the Stewards found his effort unacceptable so he will have to trial and get a Vet OK before racing again.
