The 102nd Arc

And the winner is – Ace Impact.

The favourite reinstates the profile of the Arc winner being a 3yo bay horse trained in France!  And also showed us what jockey Cristian Demuro meant when he said that the horse's turn of foot was "like flying".

The Arc echoed Ace Impact's win in the Jockey Club as he came into the straight probably no better than mid field and as soon as Demuro had him balanced he let down with this almost freakish turn of foot and put the race to bed.  It was very impressive and none of the others could produce anything to compare.  Whether Rouget's lead up prep for the race was the way to go or not is quite irrelevant as he had the horse right on the day which is what counts in the end.

Westover ran a blinder to finish second in a tight photo with Onesta who had gone off at 55/1.  And full credit to Christophe Lemaire who had the camera on his helmet and we could see him not chose to move to the rail but wait a couple of strides more until a better gap appeared and he could guide Through Seven Seas through it and to be strong enough to take the fourth prize money.

Continuous earned enough in 5th to repay the lads for supplementing him here and there will be arguments as to whether this race is too close to the St Leger which is a tough race but we don't think Aidan would have given them the go-ahead if he hadn't believed the son of Heart's Cry was in with a reasonable chance.

The other supplemented horse Fantastic Moon was running very well until they hit the straight and the charge was on and he wasn't able to keep up the pace.

But the honour and glory goes to Ace Impact and the question is where next will he continue his unbeaten career?
