The 4yo filly Namur came down the outside of the field to charge to the front and win.

She had a last minute replacement rider in K Fujioke as her booked rider Ryan Moore had parted company with his mount in the second race and was unable to take this ride.  The jockey had consulted Joao Moreira and the trainer who gave good advice and Fujioke-san was able to settle her in a good position until it was time to "go".

Second home was Moreira and his mount Soul Rush and third went to our roughie Justin Café who probably ran a few extra yards going across to the outside but once settled was able to produce a run and closed well.

Favourites Schnell Meister and Serifos were further down the list.  Schnell Meister was fractious in the gates and didn't start well.  And Serifos is not in the same form as last year.
