John Size has been around for a while enjoying champion trainer status on multiple occasions and as usual this year starting off quietly and then building up stable to big and better things, starting off about now.

On Sunday he trained Beauty Eternal to win the G2 Mile but he would not have rated that amongst his greatest wins with only 5 horses in the field.  Beauty Joy was a close and closing second and may have been closer if jockey Leung hadn't lost his whip.

The first of the G2s was the Sprint and as his jockey said after Lucky Sweynesse "got the job done".  He just beat home Victor The Winner in a 7-horse race.

The Cup went to Straight Arron who is by Fastnet Rock with Sword Point second and Money Catcher a fraction ahead of Nimble Nimbus for third.  Nimble Nimbus could be considered unlucky as he got blocked by Straight Arran whose jockey Vincent Ho copped a one meeting suspension as a result of that incident.

Brenton Avdulla rode a 4-timer on the undercard and looks like he is now finding his spot in the Hong Kong jockeys club.  He did collect a suspension as well but only one meeting.

Several of the above place-getters will next be seen out on International Day which is coming up fast!
