Notes from Tokyo Friday

We may have been wrong in saying that this was the first time female jockeys had ridden in the Japan Cup.

American jockey Julie Crone rode in 1990 and finished 10th behind our own Better Loosen Up.  However it will be the first time that a married couple have ridden in the race. Husband "Aussie Tom" Marquand will be on Stuckey and wife Hollie Doyle on last year's winner Vela Azul.

Iresine  did a bit more works this morning and trainer Gauvin said they may do a bit more of the faster work tomorrow.

The weather here is beautiful with a top of 23 today however the cold stuff is coming!
