This is one of the most exciting days racing

The weather should be perfect but unfortunately Whistlejacket will have to undergo a Vet inspection tomorrow morning before being allowed out of the stable, as will West Wind Blows.

The four International races start with race 4, The Vase.  The buzz from the track this week has been all about the Japanese runner Lebensstil with Joao Moreira doing the riding for Tanaka-sensei and he's on 9/4. Trainer Aidan O'Brien obviously has a warm heart for his filly of that name who is going for her 3rd G1 and is on 5/2 with Ryan Moore on board.  This may well be her last start before heading to the breeding barn.  Geraldine may also be heading in that same direction as she has both a wonderful pedigree and has done well here.  William Buick has the ride and they are on 7/1.  And Damian Lane flies in to partner the talented Zeffiro who is moving up to G1 level and their quote is 11/2.

The Sprint is over 1200m and while we haven't got the market UK raider Highfield Princes who won the Prix d'Abbay on Arc Day despite a tricky draw would be close to the top after a long season.  However the locals won't hear a word against Lucky Sweynesse who endorses the saying that it's harder to stay at the top than to get there and on that saying we are going for Victor The Winner who is  the horse on the way up and one should never disregard the Japanese runner in this case Jasper Krone.

Race 7 is The Mile with Hong Kong megastar Golden Sixty liable to lift the roof off the grandstand should he perform to the max and win. We have a bit of a thing for Namur and he will certainly be in our top three. The remaining selection is between Serifos and Soul Rush.

The Cup is over 2000m and here Cox Plate winner Romantic Warrior will probably start a short priced favourite with Jmac on board and the hopes of the rest of the world being with Luxembourg. We have a soft spot for Hishi Iguazu- not sure if he can win and with Moreira riding anything could happen. Another interesting runner is the French runner Horizon Dore who is the only 3yo in the field of 11 runners.

What is sure that it will be a fantastic day of racing and Whistlejacket will probably kick down the stable door which may be the case as the stewards now want us to trial as well as pass the Vet test!

We will try to update tomorrow morning in between Vettings.
