Chautauqua, Buffering Invited To 2016 Chairman’s Sprint Prize In Hong Kong

Chautauqua and Buffering have been selected to represent Australia in the 2016 Chairman’s Sprint Prize in Hong Kong.

Chautauqua and Buffering were included in the field of 14 runners selected by the Hong Kong Jockey Club for the Group 1 2016 Chairman’s Sprint Prize over 1200m, run at Sha Tin on May 1.

Chautauqua is coming off a barnstorming win in the 2016 TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick last Saturday, his second successive win in that race and his fourth career victory at Group 1 level.

Buffering won his seventh Group 1 race when taking out the Al Quoz Sprint (1000m) in Dubai last month, his first victory on the international stage.

The 2016 Chairman’s Sprint Prize has drawn just one other entrant from outside Hong Kong in American runner Mongolian Saturday.

Hong Kong’s representatives include Aerovelocity, Gold Fun, Peniaphobia and Not Listenin’tome.

Australia will be well-represented in Hong Kong with Suavito and Bow Creek invited for the Champions Mile and Rising Romance in the QEII Cup.
