Omei Sword and Divine Prophet were the big movers in the order of entry for the De Bortoli Wines 2016 Golden Rose after their wins at Randwick on Saturday.
Omei Sword was a dominant victor when resuming in the 2016 Silver Shadow Stakes and jumped to number 15 on the order of entry for the 2016 Golden Rose, while third placegetter Quick Feet moved to 18th position.
Divine Prophet charged home to win the 2016 Up And Coming Stakes and made a similar dash up the 2016 Golden Rose order of entry to the 20th position, with a maximum field of 16 to run in the Group 1 feature on September 10 though several of those high in the order are unlikely runners.Runner-up Derryn is still well down the 2016 Golden Rose order of entry at number 41 while third placegetter Thronum edged closer to a start at number 21.
In Melbourne the three-year-old feature was taken out by Ken’s Dream and he is not nominated for the 2016 Golden Rose but runner up Dam Ready added some prizemoney to his tally to take him to 50th on the order.Also in Melbourne Sweet Sherry was a winner and she currently sits inside the field limit at number 13 with fourth placegetter from the same race, Zamzam, at number nine.
Several 2016 Golden Rose hopefuls will run in this Saturday’s 2016 The Run To the Rose where entries include Telperion (fourth on the order entry), Star Turn (fifth), Astern (sixth), Good Standing (10th), El Divino (28th), Nikitas (34th), Cellarman (35th) and Impending (46th).
