Race 3 - Schweppes Heritage Stakes-Listed (3yo SWP) (1100m)

MALAHAT :3yo Colt by Exceed And Excel out of Raspberries

“He’s a last start winner who beat older horses at Canterbury. That’s not easy to do, but he did it in style showing a lot of strength at both ends of the race.”

“He comes back half-a-furlong in distance, but that shouldn’t present any problems because he’s got plenty of natural speed about him and he can run very well.”

MARSUPIAL :3yo Colt by Street Cry out of Koala Bear

“He returned with a resounding first-up second at Rosehill.”

“It’s a big challenge against the older horses for a young colt like him but he really acquitted himself well and he’s trained on. He looks in good order and galloped beautifully on the course proper at Warwick Farm on Tuesday morning.”

VIRIDINE :3yo Colt by Poet’s Voice out of Patina

“He’s unbeaten in his only two starts.”

“He was a pretty impressive, late-maturing colt. He has the opportunity to take it to another level. His two trials have been solid. He looks a little bit soft but it’s only 1100m here and he could be running a big race.

“A little bit of cut would also suit him. He’ll be one of the picks of the yard and will hopefully run accordingly.”

Race 4 - Bill Ritchie Handicap-Group 3 (Qlty) (1400m)

HAVANA COOLER : 8yo Gelding by Hurricane Run out of Unquenchable

“He’s a middle distance type who will need much further.”

SPECTROSCOPE : 5yo Horse by Medaglia d’Oro out of Diamondrella

“A much better chance. He ran well without winning first-up behind Deploy who has since run another record.”

“He’s been building really nicely between runs, as a European import he’ll appreciate his runs being spaced.”

“He’ll get a good opportunity to get back into the winners’ circle and lay down his Epsom hopes.”

Race 5 - Tea Rose Stakes Group 2 (1400m)

ALIZEE :3yo Filly by Sepoy out of Essaouira

“She’s gone close in her last couple of starts at Group level. She was only beaten a half-length in the Furious Stakes last start and we’re just trying her over 1400m here.”

“We’re yet to be convinced that she’ll run it out strongly, but in her training at home she’s giving the indication that she will.”

“Either way, it’s not hurting her, she’s thriving, enjoying her work and she’s getting that bit better at the races every time from what I can see of her attitude.”

REGIMEN : 3yo Filly by Sepoy out of Disciplined

“She was blocked for a run last start at Canterbury against the older mares. Back against the fillies she’s not without a hope. She’s got pent-up energy from her last start and she looks very strong in herself.”

“We can see a filly like her coming into this leg of the Princess series and do well.”

Race 8 - Kingston Town Stakes-Group 3 (SWP) (2000m)

ALLERGIC : 6yo Gelding by Street Cry out of Cajou

“He gets to the 2000m for the first time in this preparation.”

“He’s had to chase Winx home at his past two. He’s third-up here and we’d like to see him run a bit of a race.”

“I think he’s building toward something, but I’d just like to see some cut in the track for him to do his best. I think he’ll finish a lot closer than at his previous two starts.”
