Spright And Zenalicious Stay Home

A planned return to Melbourne for Hawkesbury-trained mare Spright has been scrapped.

Spright beat only two home in last Saturday’s G2 Nivision at Randwick, a far cry from her form last spring when she won twice in Sydney before a brilliant win at Flemington during Melbourne Cuyp week.

As a result trainer Gary Frazer has shelved another Melbourne trip for the four-year-old.

“She just hasn’t come up this time,” Frazer said. “I’ll tip her out and then start again.”

Frazer gained some consolation for Spright’s poor run at Randwick when he won a maiden at Nowra on Sunday with Playard.

Randwick trainer Les Bridge has also abandoned plans to send his good mare Zenalicious to Melbourne for the G1 Myer Classic at Flemington after she disappointed at Randwick last Saturday on the affected track.
