Wolves vs Sheffield United tips: Hosts to overwhelm lacklustre Blades

Wolves will look to build on last weekend’s win at Tottenham on Sunday (1330 GMT) when they host a hopeless Sheffield United side at Molineux in the Premier League.

Wolves will be flying high after marching into the Tottenham Hotspur stadium last weekend and leaving with all three points.

It was a perfect away performance from Gary O'Neil's side as they surrendered 78% of possession to their hosts but scored from a corner and produced a devastating counterattack to take all three points

Sheffield United are the visitors to Molineux this weekend and you'd expect to see the same approach from Chris Wilder's side, but it hasn't worked.

The Blades have produced just one away win this season against Luton and they've failed to win 11 times and lost nine of those, conceding at least two in each loss.

Wilder's side sit rock bottom of the Premier League table with three wins and 13 points to their name and it's clear there's no way back for this group of players.

That doesn't mean they can't be a dangerous opponent, but it would take something undercooked from Wolves for them to drop points on Saturday.

The hosts will be keen to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Brentford the last time they were here, a result which halted their home scoring run at 20.

Wolves were just one week shy of scoring in every home game for a calendar year before the Bees shut them out.

While goals haven't been a problem, their downfall during that same period has been conceding. They've kept three clean sheets in 22 Premier League matches.

Their record is nowhere near as bad as the Blades, though. They've kept one in 25 on their travels and have conceded three goals per game since Christmas Day.

Both teams to score looks like a nice bet to take on here but even if that lands, it's hard to see past the hosts scoring two or more and claiming the win.

Team news

Max Lowe, John Egan, Chris Basham, Rhys Norrington-Davies, George Baldock and Daniel Jebbison are ruled out due to injury.

Cameron Archer and Ben Brereton Diaz are also unlikely to feature while Mason Holgate is suspended for a red card offence.

Matheus Cunha is the only potential absentee for Wolves as he recovers from a thigh injury suffered last weekend, but this game may come too soon.

Two-goal hero Joao Gomes will continue in midfield while Pablo Sarabia, Pedro Neto and Hwang-Hee Chan form the attack.
