Chelsea vs Newcastle tips: High-scoring affair at the Bridge

Newcastle will be looking to complete a rare league double over Chelsea when they travel to Stamford Bridge this Monday night.

It's fair to say that Newcastle's season has been full of tremendous highs and lows.

Their return to the Champions League was arguably one of the best moments the club has experienced in decades.

Then again, losing seven of eight games over the Christmas and New Year period was a major low.

The Magpies have 11 games remaining to try and force themselves into Europe which is more than enough time.

Eddie Howe's men are just three points adrift of seventh-placed West Ham and six points behind sixth-placed Manchester United.

While Champions League football appears too far away, Newcastle can still end the season on a high and put themselves in a strong position for next season.

Building for the following campaign is certainly on the agenda for Chelsea. Mauricio Pochettino's men have only picked up 10 Premier League wins this season – an unthinkable number for the Blues considering the amount of investment.

One stat which helps to emphasize Chelsea's downfall is the fact that this is the fourth straight head-to-head fixture which starts with Newcastle above the Blues in the standings.

The one thing in Chelsea's favour ahead of Monday night is Stamford Bridge. Newcastle have a woeful record at the ground, winning just one of their last 28 Premier League visits.

The Magpies boast the best attack outside of the top five and we're expecting them to get on the scoresheet.

However, Chelsea should have enough quality in the bank to find the back of the net themselves.

With that in mind, we're backing a high-scoring affair at the Bridge. Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals are our main tips.

Suggested bets
