Jurgen Klopp's men are coming into the game off the back of a thrilling 1-1 draw against Premier League title rivals Manchester City.

After going behind to a John Stones goal, Liverpool came back to level the score and were pushing in the second-half for a winner.

Controversially, they were denied a late penalty after Jeremy Doku caught Alexis Mac Allister in the chest.

Many have debated since whether Doku won the ball before catching him and whether Nathan Ake affected the first goal whilst possibly being in an offside position.

However, attention now turns back to Europe as The Reds continue their search for more glory this season.

Their performance in Prague was impressive as they swept aside Czech side Sparta with ease.

An early penalty from Mac Allister settled the nerves before a Darwin Nunez brace saw them take a 3-0 lead into half-time.

Despite an early goal from the home side, Liverpool added more to their lead through Luis Diaz and a first goal for Dominik Szoboszlai since his return from injury.

Mac Allister was also on the scoresheet for Liverpool on Sunday against City. The Argentine midfielder has been in fine form for The Reds with two goals and two assists in his last three games.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions whereas the visitors Sparta Prague are now winless in their last three matches.

Sparta suffered a disappointing 4-0 loss on Sunday to Plzen that has seen their lead in the league drop to just one point ahead of rivals Slavia Prague.

Liverpool to win and Mac Allister to score is our tip ahead of the second leg tie this Thursday.

Team news

Sparta are expected to be without defensive duo Asger Sorensen and Andreas Vindheim as both players did not feature on Sunday against Plzen.

Liverpool's Ibrahim Konate was not present at the weekend after an injury forced him off in the first leg.

The Reds are still missing key players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Allison Becker and Diogo Jota.
