Trying to get football fans excited about international friendlies is almost like trying to convince Formula One fans that their sport is boring – mission impossible.

For once, however, the FA have managed to pull off a potential banger. England against Brazil at Wembley Stadium – that sentence alone makes you want to jump into a cold shower.

No matter what critics may say, both England and Brazil remain major brands in international football. What's more, this is a fixture that doesn't come round very often.

The last competitive meeting took place in the quarter-final of the 2002 World Cup. Back then, the Three Lions boasted a side that included Sol Campbell, Rio Ferdinand, David Beckham and Michael Owen.

Brazil, on the other hand, had the fearsome front three of Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo.

Twenty-two years later, the names may have changed though both sides still have plenty of fire power.

The level of excitement around this current England side is palpable and it's easy to see why. Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka… even young Kobbie Mainoo is causing a stir.

Brazil are also well stocked with talent. Their forward line alone boasts names such as Richarlison, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Raphinha. This is without Neymar and Gabriel Jesus who are unavailable.

Looking at the names, the potential and the setting, all ingredients are in place for a potential cracker.

We're backing both teams to get on the scoresheet in a high-scoring encounter. Over 2.5 goals is another suggested bet.
