Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Cranbourne, Bendigo, Muswellbrook, Goulburn, Sunshine Coast Poly.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 6 @ 8:45 PM

SPIRIT OF GOLD (3) came off the Group 3 to win this grade at Sandown (both at this distance range) bet 15-8 with Kah aboard. Draws for the run of the race and the fact that Kah's here to ride is a strong push for his chances. In a sharp barn and can take the next step. STEEL SKIES (4) improved sharply winning over the middle distance at The Valley. Will be fitter and has strong figures at this trip. Not sure the rail will suit but he'll be right in it with average luck. FOREVER YOU (6) is down from Sydney seeking the hat-trick on a 34 day return. Has been heavily-bet in those and keeps improving. Tougher but has to be considered. NORDIC PRIDE (2) was back to form placing at Canterbury. Has a decent record this distance range and can't be ruled out.
SELECTIONS: Backing Spirit Of Gold.

BENDIGO: RACE 8 @ 5:00 PM

BELTORO (8) will benefit from the first-up effort at Ballarat when beaten 1.9L. The rise in trip suits with McDougall taking the ride. Also key to note the stablemate has been scratched which is a good push for his chances. He's the one to beat. HAMSLETTE (11) actually beat the top pick last time out to continue his solid run of form. Although he hasn't been winning, his figures are right up there. Will need some luck from the draw but if he gets it he'll be right in the finish. D'JUMBUCK (10) had absolutely no luck last start when beaten 4.8L after sitting wide without cover throughout. Luke Nolen hops aboard and he's expected to bounce back. SMOKE BOMB (13) was a winner here last campaign and can run a cheeky race first-up.
SELECTIONS: Backing Beltoro to get the win.

MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 4 @ 3:25 PM

ROCKBARTON ROMAN (5) found the line promisingly when returning at Port Macquarie, beaten 0.4L on a Heavy surface. In-form hoop C Reith sticks for the hot D Atkins barn and the rise in trip looks to suit. Drawn low - should be hard to hold out. MISS LAQUETTA (12) went a miss first-up from a spell, struggling to run on hen favourite at Taree. Much better than her last run suggested. Steps up in journey and strips fitter. Expected to be fighting out the finish. CIAO BICKY (3) is from a smart barn and her recent efforts suggest she's very close to breaking through. Will find it tricky from the wide alley but warrants plenty of respect. HASALAKE (7) chased hard to line two back when falling just shy of the placings at Wyong, before putting in a plain effort at the latest when well beaten. Peak fitness now and can improve.
SELECTIONS: Backing Rockbarton Roman to break through.

GOULBURN: RACE 8 @ 4:55 PM

ROOTS (1) won as expected at Warwick Farm first-up (game effort) and Waller has kept her up to the mark with a Randwick trial. Three-back was beaten a half length in the Listed Reginald Allen and that reads well for this. Draws low and McDonald sticking in the saddle adds to the confidence. HOPE IN YOUR HEART (3) tackled the Group 1 Surround Stakes third-up and was only beaten 2.5L on the heavy track after settling back. Placed the two prior and Pike sticks from the latest. Is likely to sit handier today and will be suited at the mile. A live hope and forms the quinella. SUMMERBEEL (7) can make the speed and spiked his figures with the comfortable Kembla Grange win. Gai and Adrian will have her at peak and she will take plenty of passing. PRETTY AMAZING (6) is another Waller improver. Seeks the hat-trick but requires a Berry special from an awkward barrier. GIN MARTINI (2) and LEKVARTE (4) also demand consideration.
SELECTIONS: Will look to back both Roots and Hope In Your Heart and or stand in multiples.

SUNSHINE COAST POLY: RACE 5 @ 4:04 PM

BURY ROAD (1) disappointed in stronger at Doomben but the form around that is top-notch. Was on-pace the latest destroying the 58 graders at Gatton by 8L (2000m) and can go right on with it for the Freedman barn. SERENADE THE CAT (6) is busting to win and gets plenty of weight relief this grade. Could have had better luck here the latest as favourite and draws to advantage. BELLA BEE (7) hasn't won for a while but made good improvement in the 65 at Ipswich when she led. Gets a sticky gate but can make the finish. KIPPAX (2) is racing well enough to make the first-four.
SELECTIONS: With Bury Road.
