Major TAB meetings are held today at Wellington, Ballarat, Sunshine Coast, Murray Bridge, Geraldton, Hobart, Bairnsdale and Grafton.

WELLINGTON: RACE 7 @ 4:40 PM

The feature race on the card, the $200,000 Wellington Boot. DEEP EXPECTATION (9) is yet to break through but has been racing very competitively in town and will be at her peak now fourth-up from the spell. Drawn perfectly for Penza in gate two and should take plenty of beating. SWEET BABY BOOM (13) tried to lead all the way at Canterbury on debut and just ran out of puff late. Will have taken plenty of benefit from that day at the races and hails from a good barn for two-year-olds. Right in this. LAST BID LIAM (3) is starting to hit his straps with two wins on the bounce including one over this journey. Has to be included. BELRIAH (7) has been thereabouts in recent efforts and is from an in-form barn. Respect. SELECTIONS: #9 Deep Expectation to win.

BALLARAT: RACE 8 @ 5:25 PM

OCEANOGRAPHY (2) will prove hard to beat in the last. He's going for three in a row and was dominant at Kilmore last time out when racing just behind the speed. He should get a similar run here and prove hard to beat again. MURRUMBIDGEE RIVER (7) has plenty of talent. His maiden win was excellent before getting too far back in two city runs subsequent. Trust the stable to have him fit for this, but he'll be giving them a head start. NOTES (9) can show good improvement second up and has to be included despite the wide draw. SELECTIONS: #2 Oceanography to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 1 @ 12:40 PM

KING SHALAA (3) has been honest without winning hitting the top four at his past four outings. Has placed three from three here around his home circuit and strikes a very winnable contest in this. Rates highly and will be hard to peg back. SWISS ELEMENT (5) disappointed last time out but prior to that had been thereabouts in the three starts prior. In the mix. TIP TOES (6) has placed two from two at this track and is one for the multiples. WINNING DEAL (7) best of the rest in a race with only a handful of chances. SELECTIONS: #3 King Shalaa to win.

BAIRNSDALE: RACE 4 @ 2:45 PM

YANKEE LOU (3) has only gone down narrowly at his past two starts when well in the market on both occasions. He can go close again from a forward position in the run. ROCKCLIFF (5) has been thereabouts in three runs back from a spell and although he's yet to place over the trip he gets to the right race now. Include among the chances. LA VITA (8) possesses a strong first up record having won two of her past three attempts resuming and looks value in early markets, fresh up in this grade. SPIRIT OF GIVING (2) is a city winner and is capable of improvement on her recent form. SELECTIONS: Follow up on #3 Yankee Lou.

GERALDTON: RACE 6 @ 5:00 PM

SOVIET SPY (3) belted the 58 graders here this trip and then was trucked down to Albany and was just beaten heavily-bet after bounding on jumping. Is back after c10 days and can bounce back. A STEAMY AFFAIR (5) has been a round the mark without winning. Her figures stack-up and she's worth another chance. OUQBA TED (1) won't be far away holding the form from the placed effort in the same race. SELECTIONS: #3 Backing Soviet Spy.
