Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Ascot, Caulfield, Doomben, Gold Coast, Morphettville and Wellington.
RANDWICK: RACE 7 @ 3:00 PM
ANDERMATT (2) absolutely walked in at Canterbury first up when McDonald did very well finding the fast lane. Returned a new career peak and is clearly back in great order. Lightly raced, Cummings hasn't been one to rush him and now should have no concerns making the rise through the grades. Drawn well and clearly the one to beat. IT'S ME (1) creates plenty of interest off a freshen (49 days) and feel she was going better than it appeared on paper. Berry legs aboard and the step up in trip is another plus. MARIAMIA (11) is more than capable on best form and has to be kept safe on debut for the Joe Pride stable. Sole trial in the lead up was solid enough. LORD OLYMPUS (3) next best in his return.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on Andermatt.

ASCOT: RACE 6 @ 2:59 PM
GALACTIC STORM (4) is a promising type who scored a strong first-up win with difficulties. Fitter and the extra trip is a plus. Could go on with it. SUCCESS PLAY (3) had a wide run when resuming and went down fighting. Fitter for that and has to be respected. PAT'S GOT SASS (1) is fitter for two runs back and while a shade disappointing last time she gets her chance from an inside gate with the claim. MARZIPAN LAD (6) and MY DILEMMA (2) have claims again.
SELECTIONS: Galactic Storm to win. Trifecta 4-1,2,3,6/1,2,3,6.
CAULFIELD: RACE 4 @ 2:00 PM
GRANDSLAM (2) was a touch soft late last time. Was 1400m to 2000m there and should be better for the run over the trip. 35 days off since then but he looks like rolling forward into a good spot in a low pressure race and there is certainly less depth to this than what he tackled last time. He is well up to beating these. AIN'TNODEELDUN (6) ran well off the long break before looking like he wanted the longer trip last time. Gets to 2000m now and should be coming to his top third up. AGNELLI (8) is honest and should run well again while EUREKA STREET (5) has run a pair of good races at 2400m and comes back to 2000m now having run good late splits over the trip at Mornington.
SELECTIONS: Grandslam can be too good for these.
DOOMBEN: RACE 6 @ 2:32 PM
SHAMATON (7) is close to a win after drawing wide but running on to hit the front before going under narrowly at this track and trip last start. Gets a much better barrier and has a win and a placing from two third-up attempts so looks ready to peak. Forget the last effort of SMART IMAGE (8) when he pulled up with heat stress. Ran on well to score at this course and distance two back so can bounce back. RUBY JULY (15) is building an impressive strike rate and was too strong fresh. Unbeaten second up so is a player again. MORE SUNDAYS (3) charged home to win when resuming and could go on with it. LA AMIGO (16) is racing well and must be respected.
SELECTIONS: Shamaton to peak and win third up.
GOLD COAST: RACE 7 @ 3:29 PM
IMPEL GAZELLE (2) has won both of his only two raceday starts with the latest recorded here over 1750m, he should go close to a hat-trick of victories today. READ MY FUTURE (1) finished five lengths back from the winner last start at Eagle Farm over 1805m when racing wide without cover for most of the trip, has each-way claims. BLACKBOOTS (3) resumes from a short spell and is in the right line-up here to return to form. STRONGBOW (5) finished last at Doomben last time out when resuming from a spell, will strip fitter today and has top jockey Brad Pengelly in the saddle. Expected to feature.
SELECTIONS: Impel Gazelle to win.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 8 @ 4:17 PM
In the Redelva Stakes, BACCHANALIA (1) comes out of a very strong form line. He was well in the betting there too at Rosehill. He can plant himself just off the pace here and charge over the top of them. HERESY (3) did nothing wrong in her win during The Championships. She will be giving away ground but finding the line. Might want it damper. MANHATTEN TIMES (5) can't do much more. He does love this course and is back to his own age. MAGIC MAX (6) has run well here and in Melbourne. Can be placed. I AM ME (12) is from an elite stable and off big wins.
SELECTIONS: The Sydney form is too strong with the Godolphin pair
WELLINGTON: RACE 2 @ 1:16 PM
STARIKS (4) has been racing well this time in and meets a very weak field here. He was a late scratching earlier in the month on vet's advice and assuming that he has overcome that issue then he must go close to winning this race. THE PETTI EXPRESS (10) was a bold runner up at long odds on debut and then showed pace before fading out at Newcastle in her only other run. She is resuming today and looked forward when placing at a recent trial. Include in all multiples. CUDDLES (11) worked a bit too hard when fresh up last start and should be better for that run. She gets the blinkers applied for the first time and should be a lot sharper this time up. She is worthy of consideration. WODGER (1) overraced badly last time out and then after being trapped wide throughout understandably weakened. He drops in grade here and with the blinkers added, he should be ready to some worthwhile form third-up from a break.
SELECTIONS: Stariks win bet.
