Today’s Horse Racing Tips - 27th March 2024

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for March 27.

Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Randwick Kensington, Sandown Lakeside, Strathalbyn, Geraldton and Alice Springs.

RANDWICK KENSINGTON: RACE 8 @ 5:50 PM

CITY OF LIGHTS (3) won when resuming then stood right up to the mark last starts in stakes company when rattling home from the rear. Strips fitter third up and will eat up the extra 200m. Will take plenty of beating. FAY'S ANGELS (9) was a dominant Highway winner three back. Hasn't quite gone on with it yet but has been far from disgraced. Drops back to a preferred trip and is drawn to advantage. Can make her presence felt. AWESOME WONDER (4) returns and will be looking to emulate her win at Wyong at the beginning of last prep. Goes well fresh and the booking of McDonald reads favourably. In the mix. OUR MARYANNE (7) is the one to watch for late in the piece. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: City Of Lights is the one to beat.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 3 @ 3:40 PM

PRINCE PRAWN (2) has won his past two, both at very short odds, albeit in races that lacked depth. He's progressive however and should measure right up again. Goes close. BANQUET (5) appreciated the rise to this trip at his second start at Bendigo, scoring narrowly. Will need to improve again but can do so. ROCK THE BAR (3) won in easier grade at Pakenham last start but did it well and will take plenty of catching here. ACTIVE DUTY (8) is racing well of late and should be thereabouts again.
SELECTIONS: Prince Prawn to win.

STRATHALBYN: RACE 6 @ 4:35 PM

INTO THE LIGHT (9) has been heavily backed all campaign and finally delivered an easy Maiden win at this track/trip from a wide barrier. It was a good effort and she is advantaged today by the rails draw. Peaks and is capable of taking the next step. GARRIRE (3) is fourth-up off a win and a narrow defeat here and has the handy 3kg claim. He will push forward and is the likely danger. CHEROKEE MISS (10) is third-up and has been racing in stronger city races. She has a wide barrier but Toeroek is a key jockey switch. In a top metro barn and it won't surprise to see her in the finish. CLUB PUNTER (4) was cruelled by the wide gate at Murray Bridge but placed the two prior as favourite including a near-miss here. Can secure a soft run and he's a chance as well.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Into The Light.

GERALDTON: RACE 3 @ 2:54 PM

DAIYAMONDO (3) ran home strongly from near the back of the field to be just 1.1L away at the finish. She was only narrowly beaten over this course and distance two back and the form out of that race has worked out well. Draws a much better barrier this time and can get back to winning ways. BAYHARA (5) just missed last time out when racing greenly in the straight, with the winner of that event since winning again at Belmont last week. He won't have to get too far back from the draw today and if he can replicate the effort he produced last start, he'll go very close. IDENTIFIER (4) was an impressive first-up winner as favourite here 26 days ago and now takes the step up in grade. Like the fact she's been kept fresh and if she can stretch her form she'll be right in the thick of things. LUCKEE FLORAN (1) is better than what he showed last start and is not to be discounted. SPARKLE CORNER (2) won't be far away on the back of a nice effort last start.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Daiyamondo.

ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 6 @ 4:03 PM

BOOM BOOM SWEET (2) has yet to win on this track but has been placed in 6 of his nine starts, including a hat-trick of second-placings in his last 3 starts. The step up to a middle distance is ideal and he can break his course duck here. DESERT LASS (1) pretty much only races on this track and she has compiled a very strong record here. She is having her first run over this trip on the track and after making a bright start to this campaign, she can figure in the finish again. DUTY (5) took a couple of starts to acclimatize to racing in this area and has now gone back-to-back with 2 easy wins most recently. He is ready to step up in class and with a handy weight drop, he can win again. KIPPAX (4) will be rock-hard fit now following a nice effort at this track last start when fourth. Include.
SELECTIONS: Boom Boom Sweet to win.
