Poland's Bialecki got off to a good start in the second-round clash in Kiel but ultimately could not stop Humphries, who averaged 103 and narrowly missed a shot at double 12 for a nine-darter.

Michael van Gerwen was also on form, averaging 107.78 as he saw off fellow Dutchman Wessel Nijman 6-2 with check-outs of 150 and 116 along the way.

Dave Chisnall's hopes of defending his title were ended, however, as he let a 5-2 lead slip to lose 6-5 in a decider to Latvia's Madars Razma.

Raymond van Barneveld lost by the same scoreline to Danny Noppert and Peter Wright went down 6-2 at the hands of Andrew Gilding.
