The Board of the Australian Turf Club today welcomed the appointment of Gaming and Racing Minister Troy Grant to the position of Deputy Premier of NSW.

ATC Chairman Michael Crismale congratulated Mr Grant and said his appointment would continue to help the NSW racing industry have a strong advocate and voice in the NSW Parliament.

“The announcement today of Mr Grant’s elevation to the leader of the NSW National Party and to the position of Deputy Premier is a win for racing in Sydney and this state,’’ Mr Crismale said.

“It shows the high regard that Mr Grant’s colleagues have for him within the party, and for his talents, and it means that our Racing Minister sits as one of the most important people in the parliament.

“On behalf of the ATC Board, I and the executives of the ATC look forward to continuing to work with the Premier Mike Baird, Mr Grant and the NSW Government on all issues concerning Sydney racing over the coming years.’’
