Jockeys mourn Caitlin Forrest

The Australian Jockeys Association is in mourning following the tragic death of South Australian Apprentice Jockey, Caitlin Forrest, as a result of a race fall at Murray Bridge yesterday.

The AJA expresses its sincere condolences to the family of Caitlin, and to her partner Scott Westover.

Caitlin was a hardworking and talented young rider who had achieved considerable success in her short career. Just recently she received the Thoroughbred Racing South Australia Industry Award as the Provincial and Country Apprentice Jockey of the Year for the 2013/14 Season.

Caitlin will be missed by the families of all Australian jockeys, and in particular her colleagues and friends in the close-knit South Australian racing community.

AJA General Manager, Des O’Keeffe and Sports Psychologist, Lisa Stevens have travelled to Adelaide this morning to support the family, assist riders and organise counselling.
